Each applicant must submit a complete application package emailed by the application deadline. The package must include the following:
A completed application form.
Attach a brief, yet complete, essay including answers to topics as indicated on the application form.
Must be typed. Handwritten essays will not be accepted.
Provide the contact information of at least one faculty member familiar with the students' work.
Attach a copy of unofficial transcripts through the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship application is submitted. Official transcripts will be requested from the selected recipients.
Incomplete, improperly filled out, and late applications will not be accepted. It is the obligation of the applicant to ensure that applications meet the email deadline of January 5th to be considered valid.
Eligibility
Currently enrolled in an accredited land surveying/survey engineering bachelor degree program, or currently enrolled in an associate degree/certificate program in land surveying or survey engineering with the intent to attend an accredited surveying bachelor degree program or to pursue a career in the Land Surveying profession.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be reviewed by the California Land Surveyors Association, Riverside/San Bernardino Chapter Education Committee, which will select applicants to receive scholarships annually. Scholarship awards will be determined based upon the applicants’ career interests, grade point average (2.5 or higher), financial need, dedication to the profession of land surveying, land surveying organization affiliation, and geographic location within California. These criteria are inclusive and not necessarily listed in order of selection importance.
Scholarship Awards Available
Eight (8) $500 scholarships, two (2) $1000 scholarships, and one (1) $1500 scholarship
