Joel is a third-year Civil Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. He originally entered the program as a general civil engineering student but developed an interest in surveying after taking his first introductory surveying course. The hands-on nature of the class and the role surveying plays in engineering projects inspired him to become more involved with CLSA and the surveying profession. As Co-Conference Chair for the CLSA Student Chapter, Joel hopes to help students learn more about surveying, connect with industry professionals, and explore the many opportunities the field has to offer. He looks forward to continuing to grow his knowledge of surveying and engineering throughout his time at Cal Poly Pomona.
